Dupratex 600D
Dupratex is made 100% from polyester. This provides the fabric with fantastic properties in water. Polyester fiber is able to bond color agents extremely well and it does not lose its strength when it is wet (compared to Nylon for example). This is why the colors on Dupratex remain bright for and the material strong even after many years of intense use.
600D refers to the number of deniers in a single fiber. The more deniers, the stronger the fiber. High number of deniers in Dupratex 600D makes the material that much stronger and resistant against abrasion and use in extreme conditions.
PE foam
Polyethylene contains larger capsules of air compared to NBR foam but it is stiffer. This is why we use only 7 mm thin sheets of it and put a lot of effort in the art of layering it. Layers can glide one over the other allowing the skelet of the vest to bend nicely around torso. This way we can achieve extremely light, yet pliable source of buoyancy.
Polyethylene foam is recyclable and should be disposed to recycling with other plastics after the product's end of life.
Oxford 200D Nylon
Made 100% from Nylon this material remains durable even at its extremely low weight. Thanks to high density of low denier fibers the material does not absorb much water. It remains light and it dries quickly. Low water absorption is further emphasized by hydrophobic coating.
Oxford 210D is our go-to lining for all of our PFDs. For PFDs where light weight is the key focus used Oxford 210D for the entire shell with great success.
